Interclass 2022 has come and passed and while it is nothing but a few photos and video clips now, the competitors will remember it for years to come. This year’s interclass competition brought about fierce competition among students, both in class and on stage. Contestants who made it to the final round had an opportunity to show off weeks of hard work and preparation.
Grade 1 and 2 dazzled their peers, the audience, and the judges with their wild dance moves and upbeat singing in the English Song and Dance leg of the interclass. While they didn’t always hit the notes, they always hit the mark with their energetic and adorable performances.
For grade 3 and 4, the task was simple, read a story in a way that truly engages the audience. During their Dramatic Reading competition, the teams all did their best to captivate listeners with their best impersonations of lions, mice, the elderly, turtles, hares, and many more, as they read their various stories. From gestures to acting out scenes, they did a great job of keeping everyone engaged.
Grade 5 and 6 had possibly the most nerve wracking experience of all, but they rose to the challenge and faced it with determination and smiles. In the Show and Tell competition, grade 5 and 6 students were tasked with choosing a topic that was important to them, preparing a full presentation about it, and then presenting it to their peers, teachers, and the judges. From ways to deal with Covid-19 to the best way to make cheese cake, students showed off their wide variety of interests and their English.
With this year’s competition behind us, and with so many excellent teams participating, we would like to take this opportunity to congratulate all the competitors, and especially to all the winners. We are excited to see what next year’s competition will bring. See you there!
