International Department Coordinators
At the International Department, we take great pride in our dedication to the professional growth of our teaching staff. We prioritize teacher workshops and new teacher training as essential components of our commitment to delivering a high-quality education to your children. These initiatives empower our educators with the latest teaching methodologies and ensure that they remain at the forefront of their field. We firmly believe that investing in our teachers directly translates to an enhanced learning experience for your child. We are excited to continue nurturing the growth of our educators for the benefit of our students. In the following paragraphs, we will introduce these workshops and training programs in greater detail.
Spring Reflection Workshops
The 2023 Spring Collaborative Teaching Reflection Workshop has ended successfully. Teachers from grade 1 to 6, KCFS, as well English Village, English Drama and Creator Clubs, all participated enthusiastically. During the reflection sessions, teachers shared not only their teaching process and student learning outcomes based on different stages of proposals, but also how students applied the acquired reading strategies to writing. Teachers as audience also provided constructive feedback through padlet right after each sharing, and everyone had great discussions based on the feedback. With all the reflections gained from the workshop, we are ready to refine the projects and curriculum for the upcoming year!
New Teacher Orientation
Teacher orientation is an opportunity to get new teachers to better understand and work with all the departments they’ll need to work with. Teachers from the Department of Student Affairs came to show the different procedures and policies that need to be followed at school. A representative from the counseling office gave a great seminar on how to properly care for students mentally. Lastly, the librarian gave new teachers a detailed overview of the various services they provide. With the cohesive support of all departments, our teachers feel more comfortable starting out in a new school.
Summer Workshops
This year, we are focusing on differentiated instruction so that every student can have targeted lessons according to their needs. Our summer workshop explored various activities and lessons that can be implemented in daily instruction to support student learning at every level, from phonics to reading comprehension.
Summer is a time for teachers to rest, reflect, and grow. Through the different workshops and orientations, our teachers are better prepared to serve students during the upcoming year. Collaboration is the start of education. Now, the school year can begin.
